Can Health Reform legislation reform this?

Health Care and the City

It is an exciting time to be an administrative fellow - especially an administrative fellow in NYC! It's been a month into my administrative fellowship and I think I have fallen in love. Though the mornings of 7:30am meetings are not exactly what one would think of living the life of luxury but the treasures of knowledge and experience trumps it all. Working in the city at a forward thinking and continuously improving academic medical center is both intimidating and thrilling. I never thought the lessons of HMP 603 and the "wisdom learned" from the infamous green book would ever come to fruition. However, when you think of service excellence, high quality care, continuous improvement, and a well managed health care organization, NYU Langone Medical Center should come to mind (seriously!).

I hope to share exciting and thought provoking stories, articles, and commentaries.
So stay tuned....

What else can I add to my long list of things to do?.....BLOG!

I never thought I would or could ever have a blog. Then, I began to think of all of my many (*cough cough*) accomplishments which I will now proceed to list:
  1. Graduating with honors from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!)
  2. Leaving the sunshine and safety of my nest (i.e. parent's home in Florida) for the frigid cold of Michigan for graduate school
  3. Graduating from the # 1 Health Management and Policy Program in the country
  4. Leaving the frigid cold of Michigan for the frigid cold of the great city of New York
Since I was able to accomplish all of those great fates I thought I would able to do this blog thing!!

Here we go...I hope you enjoy!
